Windows Crashing Under Pd For Mac

Hello mendelroth,We do understand the concern with a Surface Laptop having an issue like this out of the box. We want to ensure that we are able to assist as best as possible in resolving any under-lying issues, and to do this we have a few questions that would helpus a lot if they were answered.It was stated that this device had been updated to Windows 10. Please follow the instructions on the Software Diagnostic Tool web-pageto install and run a tool that will walk through tests and a few scans to ensure the hardware and drivers for your Surface are functioning properly.If this Software Diagnostic Tool doesn't change anything, or provides an error message and is unable to complete successfully, we recommended going through either a cloud recovery or a USB recovery.

Boot Camp Assistant guides you through installing Windows on your Mac. You just have to follow the onscreen instructions. To launch the Boot Camp Assistant, go to Applications Utilities folder. Click continue and Boot Camp for Mac will automatically locate the ISO file on your system. Step 3: Create a partition for Windows.

Both functions of cloud recovery and USB recovery are thesame, they just require different steps to perform each option.To perform a cloud recovery the device must be in range of internet access, and the internet connection has to be steady enough for the device to reinstall Windows.1. Turn on the device, do not log into your profile2. Thank you Barb for kind reply.I found several instructions on internet too. Unfortunately, the main issue is difficulty to create bootable FAT32 USB drive on Mac. After several failed attempts, I decided to create Virtual Machine on Mac and use Win 10 to create recovery disk.

It is inthe process right now to create the reocvery disk, and I will keep you posted if I succeed to recover Surface Laptop.So far, it appears Surface Laptop is totally corrupted after no more than 1 week of ownership. My last resort it to try instructions mentioned. If that doesn’t work, I am forced to return it. I think there is some issue that happens with Surface Laptopupgraded from Win 10 S to Win 10 pro.I owned Mac’s for past 6+ years but I have not experienced crashes like these. I was hoping to enjoy Win 10 ecosystem but unfortunately it is not a good experience. Update:After more than 3 days, I recovered Surface Laptop. It is stilly pretty sluggish ( I will run hardware checks shortly) but I was able to recover it.Lessons Learned: It is very hard to recover Surface Laptop following instructions on Windows site.

I would strongly recommend for all new buyers to create bootable drive as soon as they open their Surface Laptop. This system worries me because it is veryhard to recover it compared to other systems. If you try to follow Winodow instructions you will never be able to recover the system. I had to use 'diskpart' DOS command to format my hidden partiotions then after I did that I was able to boot using USB bootabledrive.Good Luck!
