Hi Kathryn,I have never had a bamboo, so I don’t have a point of comparison. I did have an Intuos 3 and upgraded to an Intuos 4. The difference was like night and day and the upgrade was worth every penny.I love my Intuos 4 and would recommend the product to anyone. I do understand keeping down costs. Since I have never used a bamboo, I can’t really tell you that you would be unhappy with the bamboo. I have had people in my classes that use the bamboo and do very well.Good luck with your decision,Skip.
